Well i just wanted to thank everyone for the advise on getting used spydies and that there should be no problem whatsoever.

I just got a Blue DODO floor model from a knife shop. A bit of dust and a few tiny rust spots on the inside of the knife i can remove in a few seconds, but i know i made out like bandit:D. The balde has never cut anything and It's a user so i don't mind the tiny imperfections. For $75 total what more could you ask for

anyways thanks everyone for telling me about the dodo and i know this will be a user for a long time to come.

I use the SE Dodo (black) that Boxer93 loaned me almost a year ago for 99% of my cutting chores. It spent about 3 months lost in my car, it's spent weeks at a time at sea, and it is the knife I go to when something needs to be cut. It's getting it's workout Chris. I'll post some pix of the little guy when I get a chance. :)

for 75 bucks you stole that thing. I feel like I got a good deal picking up my black SE for 90

Where in the heck is everyone getting these Dodo's? I can't find one anywhere. I guess I'm just not meant to have one...

I have a blue pe Dodo & a black se Dodo. They are just the right size to EDC anywhere. The ball lock is super strong, absolutly zero blade play. 75 bucks is a steal.

My biggest problem with the DODO now is getting it out of my hand. The grip is so comfortable i always it in my hands even if i need it or not. Hopefully they bring this one back one day. that would be cool cause they really hard to find now. I'd like to get a few more.

I'd love to see them bring it back. Well, at least the handle shape. They'd probably have to redesign the blade to for wider appeal though...

I've got mine clipped to my leg pocket right now. :) Black SE.

Pete,
That is great. I am happy that it is working for you. Sounds like it's holding up ok around water too.
Chris

S30V seems pretty corrosion resistant. It rusted up a little bit when it was in my car in Cape Cod and Chincoteague (lost) but cleaned up VERY easily with no ill aftereffects. It is THE knife that I go to when things need to be cut, it stays sharp for a long time, and sharpens up easily on the sharpmaker. The serrations are the best pattern I've seen thus far save for the scallops on victorinox paring/bait knives and the one hand trekker. The knife is comfortable to hold and use for long periods of time and there is little (save for specialized cutting) that it can't do. The lock is still secure with NO blade play, it still opens smoothly and locks up tight, and it unlocks and closes like butter. This knife was made to be used.

A new-in-the-box blue PE Dodo just sold on eBay for $177.50, IIRC. It is getting to be a rare bird, but not that rare! The supply is drying up and the price is starting to rise. Get 'em while you can.

I appreciate the advice on the DODO, but I am thinking you are trying to get my deal. Any idea how much these sell for on the exchange board?
