Hey guys how are yah

I think I am at a point that I am really considering buying most of the spyderco knives that i want used on either the forums or ebay.

It's just i know for a fact I will never be a collector and just a user. Since i can not really afford all the models out there that i really want i'm just thinking of buying used Spydies. Also it's just when you have a used knife you dont mind using it hard, because it already has its first scratch on it. I bought an ATR new and the only think i have cut on it is paper what can i say I don't want a put a scratch on it yet. I can not really think of the downside as long as the seller is honest, and describes the knife to the best of his abilities and I know that spyderco has great customer service and rock solid warranty.

what do you guys think & btw if you have any used spydies gimme a shout :D
mainly the big folders

take care

Its always a gamble buying something used that you can't look at in person.
However there are some good buys to be had sometimes... I don't have a problem buying a used knife if it is in very good condition and substantially less $$ than a new one.. If you watch the auctions closely on e-bay sometimes you can get a new knife at a reduced price also.

I buy most of my knives from the Exchange forums. Sure they are often used, some very much so. They are also basically good knives -- if they were lemons, the original owner would have noticed that and dealt with it already.

Just buy from people you respect, look over the pictures and the descriptions of the knives, and you'll do fine.

I don't mind buying used blades here at all. We have lots of great folks in the exchange forums. The hobby part of knives for me is buying trying, then selling to do more buying. Seems that way for most people round these forums.

Its hard to go wrong with Spyderco.

So all in all you guys have had mainly good experiences on the forums buying used.

You don't really see a whole lot of "good" used Spydies on eBay, at least not lately. Most of the knives that are listed as used have been abused or fundamentally botched in some fashion, at least the auctions I have seen.

Dealing with reputable members here on the forums is probably a better way to go. You will most likely get a knife that has been used, but taken care of properly.

Agreed.

I've bought many used Spydies and other knives from
the forum and they've all been as described for the
most part.

I'd rather purchase here than on ebay any day!

Make sure you're dealing with a reputable member
and you wont have many problems.

I got my first Manix used from here and gave it to
a good buddy for his birthday. Miss it to this day...:(

As others have said, the best place to find used knives is right here on BF. I'd be careful about buying used knives on ebay; most of the sellers are not "knife people" and cannot adequately give a description of the knife.

Good point, the best place for used Spydies is here.

Two of my EDcs I bought used, one on BF and one on e-bay. Both knives came in very good condition and I saved a lot of cash.

I bought all my spydies either here or on a canadian forum where you can check peoples rep. The Police I bought here from Sweetcheeks was brand new in the box for about 60$ less than the cheapest store.
Some knives like Enduras are better to get from stores like New Graham but the pricey or rare ones are better deals on the exchange.

CGN ,Canadian Gun Nutz. It has a great exchange but the knife part is tricky to find because you have to go to the "everything else" section and it is at the top of the page.
Most of the people there have been using it for years and the feedback system is great.
It is not like BF where you can find everything but there are some really good deals show up so I check a couple times a week. I have got a Chinook3 and Emerson Commander together as a awesome deal as well as a genuine WW2 FS Dagger and a very good deal on a Kirby Lambert custom.
