This has to be on top of my list right now.

I cant really say if theyre serious or what, but this has got to be one of the most far-out things ive read.

Decription taken from their site:

Built to military specifications, Battle Mug features a M1913 rail interface system which allows the operator to mount a standard issue M4 carry handle, tactical light, laser device, holographic sight (we call them “beer goggles”) or even a bayonet for close quarters, high risk operations.

Each individually serialized Battle Mug features Mil-Spec Type III anodizing and a crenelated base and is built with the operator in mind.
Whether you are fighting drug lords deep inside the jungles of Colombia, stomping out Al Qaida terrorists in Falluja Iraq, or eradicating no-good hippies in Berkeley, California…

Battle Mug is built to take the abuse and will be there to offer you a frosty 24oz. reward once the mission is complete.

Looks like a Strider product to me hahaha.

JK,

looks like a cool product but yeah...bloody useless.

That's cool...
I'd love to have one of those little Korg Kaossilators:

http://www.korg.com/product.aspx?&pd=292

Little hand-held synth that you can generate rhythm patterns, lead lines...Nearly anything with, and then hook it all up to your system or recording device...

I admit I've always wanted a broomhandle Mauser too. Big, ugly, mechanical, impractical pistol....But cool.

+1 on the Kaossilators. The Kaos pad is even cooler. It lights up and stuff. :D
I love my Korgs.

That mug is badass. But $279? That's a lotta cheese! I love the "crenelated base"- for maximum effectiveness when you conk a "tango" on the noggin with it, I presume.

This rates pretty high ... it's a binocular, magnifying glass, LED light and compass

I like these -

Magnetic spice rack anyone?

Then something Star Wars geeks and tacti-sexuals (wouldn't it be sweet in aircraft-grade aluminum + kevlar :p) would both love, a true hard shell backpack to make Maxpud go OD green with envy; Flo back packs. Comes in day pack, weekender, and 5-day trekker configurations (still a concept though) -

Awesome thread! I need the mug.

Edit: Mug costs $279 I still want it...but damn that is a lot of money to have a sweet mug.

Cold steel warhammer. No useful use that would require a hammer of it's size, but man it would cool in my room.

I could make a list of stuff from countycomm. Not useless stuff by any means, just stuff I don't need or would use much enough to warrant getting it.

I am trying very hard to reduce the amount of "stuff" that me and my wife own. I define "stuff" as anything that you do not have a specific and regular need for in your house.

The problem is that MY stuff like khukris and knives and guns is so cool that I want to keep it and get rid of all my Wife's useless stuff.

The spice rack is a good idea IMO.

Some spices and herbs are light sensitive, so the clear lid on some of those probably isn't a good thing. Looks nice though, and sure is convenient.

As for the OP, I had a strange interest for kerosene lanterns some time back. I was looking to pick up a classic Dietz lantern, but lost interest before I picked one up. Now I might need to explore this interest further.

I also begged my grandparents for a Dietz or a Coleman dual fuel lantern back when I was 12. I'm glad they never gave in. I'd hesitate to give a 12 year old a lantern.

As far as useless stuff, I couldln't think of much. I tend to skimp on everything but knives.

.

Shoot I was sweating pipe joints by that age.

I wasn't allowed to touch power tools (drill press etc) until I was 11.
