User or safe queen?

What gets me sometimes is when I have a knife that I really like,one that I way overpaid for,one that I promised my self I would light carry and preserve as best I can,then out of nowhere you find yourself doing something in the yard and all you have is your go to town knife in your pocket.now if I had better knees and back I just walk to the house and grab my work knife but I don't.so now your cutting wood,digging out weeds in gravel and the cracks of driveway. We'll it isn't pristine anymore .
 
I guess I'll add to the conversation. I'm in the camp of too many knives to realistically use.

I do have some favorites that are lovingly used and for the most part I'm pretty gentle with them. I have carried almost every knife I own at least once or twice, but always (proudly) in a knife purse. Tony Bose (rip) can think whatever he wants! 😂 I'm a fan of patina, but not of the banging around with keys, etc. I enjoy most of my collection simply through admiration and as worry stones.

Yes, I have some hard use beaters, but I'm a firm believer in the right tool for the job, which is why I have a tool pouch in my vehicle as well. Scraping out cracks, concrete, or digging in dirt..... a 5 in 1 or putty knife work better and who cares if they get destroyed. Cutting branches is usually a job for a saw as well.

Just my own opinion, and that's what's great about the hobby... we can all get enjoyment in our own way!

I'll jump right on that hand grenade and offer to accept a selection of the heaviest ones, as domestic shipping is more affordable for weighty parcels. I'm sure Will Power Will Power understands. 🤣 Don't anyone ever say I'm not willing to make sacrifices for this community!
 
I'm probably in the same boat as few others. I don't buy anything with the intention of not using, but I have favorites and some just don't get used.
For example, the knife below... I have several that are very similar, but I like this one the best and carry it often.

Don’t want to get off topic but check out Attack on Titan. One of the best anime ever created. It finished a few months ago so you can binge it. Rated R.
