It’s an unusual blade shape but has proven to be a great cutter. I’ve been carting it around the farm with me for the last few days using it for all of my cutting chores.

My wife had me cutting the bottoms off 200 Agapanthus plants that had become pot bound, the sharp point really bit into the plastic making easy work of it.

But I’ve had more important chores for it as well. :D
Cutting up Stan’s dinner.

Though he was in a bit of a hurry here.

Today I’ve been out the back most of the day fixing a fence that had a tree fall over it; the two dogs were with me all day, of course. :d

Before I left I decided to knock some of the shoulder off the Sus Scrofa as I like a finer edge than it had.

Stan giving it a close look over as he’s a INFI connoisseur.

Fixing a truck rope that I managed to break dragging the tree off the fence line.

Here we are nearly home, I have Stan on the chain to keep him out of the creek, we both got into trouble the other afternoon for Stan tramping mud and water all over the verandah. :D plus the couple of leaches that fell of him.

I thought we may have picked up a Wallaby for Stan’s tea out there, but it wasn’t to be . I’d like to give a Sus Scrofa a go at skinning, I can’t see any reason why it won’t skin OK.

My wife’s cat was handy and Stan would have liked it, but I don’t think it was worth the trouble it would have caused. :D

I did pick up two Indian Minor birds that have had a death sentence for a week or so now. They were introduced into this country in the early days to help eradicate insects throughout the sugar cane crops and have since become a national pest. They are very territorial and chase a lot of the native birds away.

It was a nice passing left and right barrel. :D
The other one landed up the creek somewhere so I wasn’t going looking for him.

My favorite shotty. A Merkel S/S

Cheers.
Ian. :D

i agree thanks for cool the pics
can we get a couple more of your sharpener ?
i have never seen one like that before

Yer pix get :thumbup:! Thanxx for posting them! :)

Tell me more about that device you have the knife clamped in for sharpening , I don't think I have seen one like it before.

Richard

That sharpener is slick, makes me almost wish I hadn't bought these DMT stones. In solace I do take pride in hand sharpening my knives as good as I do, even if they aren't as pretty as your perfect polished edges :p.

Anyways great review and awesome pics, I'm jealous.

At 28 guage, I bet that's one sweet shooting shotgun!

Thanks for the pics and review, Ian. It's always a pleasure.

Great review... that picture of Stan with his dogfood in his mouth is priceless.:D

Cool review! I've never developed the skill to sharpen a curved edge, but I'm sure it's a great cutter.

Nice pics of both the Busse and shotgun. :) Too bad the antis in Ozz land banned semis :(

I also have a Scrofa but I'm having a tough time sharpening it on a strop and green compound.

what kind of strop are you using? a wider flat strop?

I find that a skinny strop is the way to go on those. A home made strop bad worked great for mine (while it still had the reverse curve).

Great thread, and great pics. I think the SS is a very under rated knife. It is super handy. When I have it and my GW with me, the SS gets pulled out almost every time.
