KICK'S BUTT!!!!!!!!! What a cool tool! My boss gave me a couple simple assignments to gain some experience, my first cut(more a series of cuts), reducing 1/2" round to 3/8ths, took me about an hour. But then once I gained some confidence and understanding and how-to of eyballing and judging how much equals what measurement (like taking a .050 cut instead of 5 .010 cuts) I made the two parts in 2 hours. Learned the basics of tool grinding and why you put releif angles on. Very fun tools, very zen like to run one, the polar opposite of a power hammer.

Also scored a 6" Atlas benchtop lathe for 75$. Great condition.

I know exactly what you mean Sam. I was giddy as a schoolgirl when I took my first few cuts on my Southbend 9.

Enjoy!
