Using One-of-a-Kind Custom Folders

I have a custom that I use... My KHampton swayback is probably my most treasured traditional knife, and so I'm careful not to lose it and I don't necessarily use it on the crappiest jobs, but I carry & use it regularly. I'll post an updated pic when I get home.
Despite regular use, it doesn't show much wear, even after several years.

No customs yet. I'd use one if I ever save up for one. I love the knife I do use so I haven't made the plunge into custom category. I think many users don't show off pictures of a well used custom. Secondly, most are made of stainless and don't show wear like the carbon steel blades. I have used my seb quite a lot and at inspection looks used, but in pictures it looks blemish free

I edc my custom slip joints and use them to cut anything that I would with a production knife. I don't buy knives that I won't use. To me, a knife is a tool first and I use it as such. If other people just want to buy them to look at then that's fine with me. I cerainly wouldn't think any less of someone who doesn't feel comfortable using them. It's a personal choice that I think is largely based on the individual's reasons for collecting knives. Neither one is right or wrong, just different.

I also agree that one of the reasons we don't see more used custom knives posted here is simply because people don't take pictures of them. When we get a new knife, we're excited about it and want to take pictures to share with everybody else. Once the picture has been saved it's just easier to use that same one when referencing it in the future.

Here is my Wiseman Front Pocket that I use quite often. These photos don't really even give an accurate depiction of the patina it has developed. You can see where I nicked the tang while sharpening.:o
