Using the NWA survival knife....

with the firesteel? Has anyone actually used the spine of the knife to throw some sparks with the firesteel? Will it damage the knife? Yes, if I was freezing to death I might light the Mona Lisa on fire to keep warm in a survival situation. Well maybe not the Mona Lisa but some of the crap from Warhol certainly. ;)

OK, it might be a little bit of a stretch with the comparison but you get my point. In a survival situation I would do it without a second thought but I like the knife too much to deface it for no real reason. :thumbup: I have used the firesteel with the provided striker and it works well. I have lit my vasoline soaked cotton balls with no problem from the firesteel.

Anyone?

I use the thumb serrations, strike the rod sort of diagonally and it throws a nice shower. Won't damage it at all, it may leave some black soot but it wipes right off. So far I have not hurt this knife one bit, and believe me, I have treated it pretty rough.
