USMC Camillus Mod. 892?

I just purchased a USMC Camillus Mod. 892 at a gun show. Lock-back, 5 1/4" closed, 4 3/4" stainless blade, four different blade styles that I saw -- some half serrated some smooth edged. The grips are 1/16" black steel panels with USMC stamped on one side. Riveted with a brass lined lanyard hole.

I'm wondering if this knife is in current production, if it's issued/used by USMC. And what sort of issue is it (field, combat, utility)?

DropPoint,
The #892 was part of a run of knives made for one of our distibutors at their request. It was not a military issue item. We amde 1 run and that was it....I'm not sure of the #'s produced. They are however VERY stout lock back folders, and should serve you well. The blade is 440a and the scales are 410 stainless. I hope this helps. THanks for being a customer.

Aha! Then this is a limited run knife! That's a good deal.

I have an old (1950's) Air Force survival Camillus. The blade is intact, but the tang has been broken on the end and the handle is missing. Any chance I could have it refurbished?
