This is too much pack for me. I used the system in Corps as an 0341, and happened across a complete set a few years ago. I have only done one hiking trip with the main pack. Its too much for the mountains here in Tennessee. the lighter civie packs are 100% better suited. lets face it, its camping not "combat camping." The day pack, on the other hand, i have used daily for a couple years. It is the most under rated piece of surplus gear on the market. I am over the mar-pat, and at 1600 cubic inches, its more day pack than I need. It has great compression straps, so its as small as you need it to be, but I am looking at one of those removable day packs right now. Something that will attach to my lighter pack. This combo would make a great bug out bag for a prepper on a budget.The main pack is in great condition. All load lifting buckles are in tact, and its not full of holes. in fact, it hardly shows any use. The day pack is 100% functional with no broken hardware and no holes, bit it is discolored on the back amd shows signs of use. I have detailed pictures upon request.
