USN MKI DECK KNIFE

Gunsil, I was just relaying my experience collecting the various makers. Seems PAL made 70% of the deck knives, the other makers all made about 5% each. For me the WW2 KaBar was the hardest to find.

It is not that unusual to find new old stock PAL knives I even had one still in it's wrapper. For the record the NOS one was packed and shipped with no sheath.

Many PALs were found new in boxes in old military storage in the 1970s I think and that is why they are so prevalent in mint condition. I have seen hundreds of the flat ground KA-BAR models over the years but the saber ground ones seem scarcer, do you see the same? I think Geneva Forge made the least, I think production numbers are available someplace.

You just had to activate my OCD gunsil....Saber Ground Saber Ground :D

The saber ground Kabars are definitely way scarcer. I dont have one.

We travel different circles, I've seen way more Geneva Forge than KA-BAR.

KA-BAR strayed the farthest from the spec sheet I believe.

I never bought an original Colonial, just never found one with a nice handle that was priced Right. I have one of the new Colonials.....its not very good.
