Anyone else experiencing major USPS delays with packages getting routed between distribution centers? I am talking about even in areas 30 hours away from Hurricane Helene and Milton impacts.

I've got 2 knives I sold on here still pending delivery 9 days later. I also have another knife I bought and it's been hung up in a distro center since 6 October.

Is it just me?

I have a package stuck in San Antonio for a could days at the origin facility.

Yeah I had 2 packages do weird things, one of which is still delayed going into Texas, and have been using fedex in the mean time with great luck.

I'm in oklahoma for reference. What should be a 2 day ship has turned into 7 days and counting. It's been "en route to facility " for the past 3.

The other package came out of Texas via usps and did the same thing but a 4 day delivery time.

Mail and packages were stopped and held at certain mail distribution centers so that they did not enter the large areas of the country impacted by two hurricanes. That sort of backlog takes a while to clear.

What I don’t understand are the recent issues with mis-sorts of packages bouncing between two distribution centers. Once I get the package the label is correct and easily read. No obvious reason for the mis-sorts.

This has happened to me in recent weeks also.

I recently bought a knife from a seller here in Florida, took a few days to get out of Florida but after that it was quick, added about 3 days or so to the expected delivery, so really not bad considering.

I have a package coming to Illinois from Ohio - tracking says it’s in Denver Co now. Explain that. I’ve had a bunch of off route packages lately and nowhere near the storm affected areas either. Phooey.

I work for an Australian post office. So take this with a grain of salt.

When a center gets to much mail to fit in their warehouse they send them back to the bigger centers.

I assume no mail is getting to the hurricane areas. And so is going wherever they can fit it.

Which then means other mail is filling up their warehouses and so is getting pushed around as well.

I once ordered a crude looking but good quality Ulu from Nepal and when it arrived I found a hand written note in the box that read watch out sharp. I do not think it was put there by the knife company. I can't prove either way but it was just a feeling coupled with my experience dealing with these knife companies.

It looked like your typical crude cheap implement but beneath that black oxide scale left over from forging (a choice is offered polished or with forging scale left on) was a razor sharp properly heat treated quality forged carbon steel blade that if handled improperly will cut the person who makes that mistake.

It did take a while to arrive.

I've been experiencing delays with both USPS and UPS apparently as a result of shipping to the wrong location, followed by 2 or 3 days of no movement.

This makes a ton of sense! I bet this is happening here which is why I have packages moving between distro centers.

Man. That is what I feel like happened to my knife I am waiting for. I definitely wrote the addy right for the two knives I sold to the BF members though.

Ground Advantage is exactly that I think, I feel like they went back to transferring it by horse and carriage. It can travel from CA to NYC in 2 days and then take 9 days just to get across the state. If someone in the Midwest sends me something, forget it, it’s gonna hit that armpit of the US, Chicago, and get fubar’d for a week and then pop in NYC where the 9 day countdown starts again lol.

Sorry, this makes too much sense.

Ground Advantage is what Amazon uses to punish those of us who won't sign up for Prime.
