I have been waiting for a #15 Huckleberry Boys Knife since it was picked up by USPS at 12.37 on the 24th Jan on their tracking site it shows as being in transit to destination at 12.37 on the 25th, 26th and 27th Jan, since then nothing , any ideas ?

Depending on location; maybe it's still in transit or they handed it over to customs or another carrier, they don't notify you about that. But if you're in the US, no idea.

Usually when tracking stops updating it means my package has has arrived in the destination country (NL). After that it will take about a week, sometimes two to arrive. I guess it could be the same for England, so I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Was it shipped priority or first class?
It's frustrating when one is waiting for something; but, most of the time, USPS delivers. I recently had a package that scanning showed leaving a regional center (20 minutes from my local station) 6 different times over 3 days. If it has been in one place, with no updates/scans for several days, I would contact your local postmaster.

Ahh - looking at recent posts, I see this is an international shipment. Depending on the country, I've seen packages sit in customs anywhere from 2-3 days to over 2 weeks.

In my recent experience, USPS has really been lagging lately. It took a week and a half for my latest order to reach Omaha from L.A.

Have a custom knife that seems to be held up right now by them???

A few years ago had some take over a month to be delivered.

Have shipped them all over the world using them, never lost one yet - knock on wood!

Totally happening to me as we speak. I’m so frustrated...but whatever. So far, from Jamaica, NY has taken a week to NOT get to my PO.:thumbsdown:

At this time of year, there are a lot of back ups in processing through customs and shipping in the hubs. The weather might delay air travel for a few days but it gets multiplied for parcels as there are a lot of items in transit since on line sales have become the norm for many items. Customs still checks a lot of items that may have legality issues in some jurisdictions individually.

USPS has been pretty bad for me lately, in November it took 8 days for a knife to go from PA to MD, 60 miles, early Dec another package was mailed and never showed up, got my money back. Priority 2 day has taken a week. Pretty much everything has eventually shown up except for the 1 package.

If you are in the UK, most likely customs have it , a letter will arrive sooner or later.

I recently had 2 packages mailed at separate p.o.'s on separate days get bottlenecked in Boston for 5 days. No reason given. Then I have to worry about the idiot that is my carrier. Everyone in my neighborhood is constantly re-delivering what turned up in their box but doesn't belong to them. Numerous complaints to the local Postmaster have done nothing. "I don't understand the problem. He's been on that route for 30 years." It drives me nuts when tracking says it's been delivered and the knife I'm expecting is floating around the neighborhood some where. I wish I could get everything UPS--KV

Stuff from the US to Europe is variable, about a week/10 days but it has taken 5 weeks so take a chill pill:D This time of year there is naturally the weather to factor in so delays are not too surprising.

My #78 jig bone was dispatched from the same dealership on the 14th Jan and was delivered on the 23rd Jan and I was able to track from pick up to the various stops along the way until Chicago airport then Heathrow to the sorting depot at Langley HWDC then out for delivery, as you can see it was scanned probably 10 or so times, I guess I was just lucky with that one as checking back in my diaries it seems 2 or 3 weeks is more the average. Perhaps I should stick to buying from A Wright up in Yorkshire, order today it will be with me tomorrow , that reminds me I have had my eye on one of their Senator knives, Hmm.

I have, in the past two months, received knives from Israel, Germany, and China. I was truely suprised at how fast the one from China arrived, within three weeks. But Germany took a month, and Israel six weeks, and in both those cases they were delayed by multiple issues. The Germany shipment took the longest to clear customs, the Israeli shipment took over two weeks to leave the country and then did so by (I'm guessing) boat. Weather on the East Coast also held up both shipments. Because they were shipped with tracking I was able to pick them up once they arrived in the USA, if that had not been specified I would have had no oversight until delivered.

The USPS does not track packages once they leave the USA. You need to use their tracking number with whoever the foreign carrier is.

Starting out in UK with Royal Mail, and ending up with Canada Post, I received a package, no knife but knife-related, over two months later. Mailed on the 28th of November, so I guess the holiday season traffic jam is to blame - or???

I don't sell knives that much anymore but when I was pumping them out Germany and Italy were the worst points for me. Buying from Italy was a total crap shoot.
I'm in the U.S.

It might just be stuck in traffic between Jamaica, NY (AKA: JFK International Airport) and your post office. :(

Oh don't get me started on USPS! Mostly we have suffered from thefts by postal employees but numerous losses too. Insurance you say, joke I say. Even with their own Postal Inspector's theft report attached, they will deny the claim. Ya win it on appeal but goodness. This will be after several months of phone calls and about an inch thick stack of paperwork. What's your time worth? Which I'm sure is all part of the evil plan. So many hoops, so many hurdles maybe ya just go away.

Horsewright rule of thumb, value of package over $100 ships Fed Ex or UPS. More expensive? Yep but gets there. Many thousands of packages sent with all three carriers. The other guys have each lost a couple. Difference is their insurance actually means something. Check within a week from one phone call. We do have a lot of customers that are extremely rural and USPS is the only option so we still hold our breath alot.

Problem is internationally Fed Ex and UPS are stupidly expensive. So one knife or something less expensive you are back to USPS and crossing your fingers holding your breath. Couple of three knives and I start talking to the customer about UPS or Fed Ex.

Good luck on your package. Even me I wouldn't be too worried...... yet.

They just prosecuted a postman who had half a ton of undelivered stolen mail in his house! You'd think they might have noticed after the first couple of hundred items went missing

I have very little good to say about USPS at the moment, and agree with Horsewright Horsewright about the insurance, Royal Mail is no better
