I received a package priority mail from 1sks today(Jan14) postmarked Dec.20! It was supposed to be a christmas gift,oh well I guess three weeks late is better than never!?? 1SKS did a great job,got it out in a hurry, the bad is with usps.

I sent a USPS Priority Mail package on December 13th to D7Reamers. He never received it.

The US Postal system was definitely most ugly this past holiday season.

I too feel your anger:mad:
I had to return a knife because of a defect via priority on the 26th!!!! still hasnt gotten there, I couldve walked there by now!!!!

Oh lordy, I just hate dealing with the US Postal service, but sadly I find myself continuing to do so.

Now, someone, somewhere, at some time, offered some great advice, and I am doing my level best to take advantage of it. The advice was to use registered mail, as this is the safest most secure way to send anything anywhere.

I just sent off a custom knife to Canada via registered mail, and I feel confident after talking with the postal employee about registered mail. Sure, it's a bit more hassle with packaging, but it's really very cheap, and extremely secure.

Since the incident with Razor, I am not too sure about any one else besides me and the dealer handling my goods.

And the more a parcel service screws up, the more I want to just go personaly pick it up myself at a planned location.

A fellow forumite and I agreed on a trade, and shipped (both USPS Priority) on the 8th. I got his end of the trade on the 11th. He's still waiting on my end of the trade to arrive. Frustrating as crap for me, and I know that must be doubly true for him. He's still waiting on his knife, and they're making me look bad. I'm p'd:(

USPS is the absolute pits. I really don't trust them with anything more than regular first class mail. anytime I have the option when ordering merchandise, including knives & gadgets, I always request that they be shipped UPS or FedEx if the shipper uses USPS "Priority" Mail. "Priority" Mail is the biggest joke.

My fine and outstanding Postal folks:rolleyes: just informed me that if I do NOT use "Priority Mail" to ship, normal delivery to Australia is now five to six weeks.

I used standard first-class mail to ship a $1.00 belt-clip to OUPA and the USPS tells me after the fact not to expect it to arrive until the end of FEBRUARY!!!!!

They SUK:mad:

Right now I think that the USPS is crap. I shipped a knife Global priority(not the top of the line but the 4-7 business days) to Thailand, and I dont't think that Santi has recieved it yet(it was sent out December 26th) I am with Dexter in saying that I will now only ship Ups or Fedex.

I have read lots of these posts latley, so when I was in the PO last week I inquired about "Registered Mail" It adds a few more dollars to the cost of the package, but it sounds like it's the way to go as far as security. In fact, the man I spoke to said that he personally knew a PO worker that "lost a reg": his wages were garnished for 9 years at $300/month. So it seems that the USPS does take Registered Mail seriously.
I have personally started using UPS. But for more expensive customs, I may elect to use Registered Mail.

under $3 seems reasonable for the average knife sale, right?

Well, it would be, if the USPS actually honored insurance claims. As others have discussed here, they don't.

Cancel that. The knife was there on the 12th. No problem with USPS, after all. The other party just didn't have time to let me know. He had time to put it up for sale...just not to let me know he got my end of the trade:barf:

You people who can't communicate-don't expect someone to deal with you again.

 Sent a dude in Florida a $260 money order for two bowies via Priority Mail on a Monday. The Tuesday on the week after I asked him if he had received it yet. He emailed back and said he just got it that day. Now I take people at face value for the most part but something about his reply didn't add up. Then I realized I purchased delivery verification for 40 cents. Went to the USPS website and put in the packet number, and sure enough USPS delivered it on that Wednesday (2 days as advertised). The dealer in Florida had lied to me and he won't answer my emails asking if he shipped the bowies yet. I have a feeling I'll be invoking an eBay fraud claim on the guy in spite of what appears to be his good track record.

I have been doing a deal with a guy in Alaska for a custom Livesay RTAK which has been hanging fire since he mailed the package on Jan. 2. So far no package. He seems to be getting some kind of run-around from Mailboxes Etc. regarding the insurance and the tracking of the package. I spoke with the local postmistress today who stated that all packages insured for more than $50 are trackable. So I am waiting to see where this goes from here. If USPS has lost my RTAK I'm really gonna be upset; however, if I don't get my money back (from package insurance or otherwise) I will be back with the full story.

Hey guys I need some advice. I sent a postal money via Global Priority mail to a reputable dealer in Canada on January 5,2002 and as of today it still has not arrived! Pony Express would have been better! In everyone's experience will the post office refund the money order? Is there a way to track global priority mail (when I sent it, the clerk stated that global priority cannot have a tracking number)?

I fully believe the dealer and really want the knife, suggestions please.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris; I live in Canada and do a lot of Global Priority inbound with knives and have yet to lose on. I'm talking over 100 deals! Some take 14 days and more but always arrive. If you had a return address on it I would bet it will be delivered this week or you will get it back. No tracking but it has been fine for me. Your holiday on that Monday and the fact that you shipped Saturday means at least 3 lost days. Trust them, it will arrive! Mike:)

I love the USPS. 100's of transactions over the last 4 1/2 years.
1 late money order. Can't beat that.
