OK knife buyers/sellers- anyone know if you can insure packages going to our Northern brothers?

Last time I tried, I was told NO. I was sending a box to B.C., and tried to insure it for $200. I was not given a reason.

Depends what USPS shipping method you use. USPS doesn't offer the option to purchase insurance on international shipments sent via USPS Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box or Flat Rate Envelope since those don't come with package tracking when used internationally. All other Priority Mail Intl. and Express Mail Intl. services (including Express Mail Intl. Flat Rate Envelope) do offer tracking and, with it, the option to purchase insurance.

So I figure then the shipping cost takes a big jump up?

Thanks for responses by the way...

Yeah, it is a bit more. Small Flat Rate Box or Flat Rate Envelope to Canada will run you around $11-12, while shipping via weight-based Priority Mail or Express Mail Intl. Flat Rate Envelope will run you $20-25.

That's strange because if I'm in canada ship to the us there is 100$ of insurance included in the cost

I dug around the USPS website and seems to be about $5 more for $200 of insurance...

Haven't heard from my possible canadian buyer for a bit- maybe a moot point!

No on 1st class or priority. Express comes with $100 insurance included and you can add all you want. Express in a box starts around high $20's.

Be sure you are not sending anything handled from non-domesticated wildlife - they are cracking down if they catch stag, horn, pearl, etc.
