Usual Suspect Bali fans?

Okay, I know that Don Rearic and I are both avid Bali fans, but how about the rest of you guys? Any flippers here?

I understand that Ernie's first knife was a bali. With all of the recent bali hoopla going on, I was hoping to stir the pot a bit here. Microtech is jumping on the bali bandwagon now with their upcoming "Tachyon", and that's great; the more high quality balis the better.

But what could be better than a Microtech bali? An Emerson bali!

Perhaps a collaboration would be in order here. Ernie collaborated with Fred Perrin and created the Emerson La Griffe,....so it seems like a natural for the two of them to collaborate upon an Emerson Bali.

Fred Perrin is a Bali Master! I've recently acquired an incredibly wicked Perrin Custom Bali, and I've never handled a smoother more perfect bali in my life. Here's a few pix of it with my Benchmade BM42s for comparison:

Now, imagine Ernie's styling influence upon a Perrin Bali. It would be tactical, and nobody is really making a tactical bali. It would be tough as hell. It would be... ...the perfect bali.
Microtech is entering the bali game. Benchmade is preparing to release more bali models. Several other companies are planning balis this year.
Certainly this is nothing revolutionary, but it IS competitive and timely. Ernie and company could blow away the competition. Would The Usual Suspects support such a creation? I certainly would. Let's hear your thoughts guys.

Jonas is into BaliSongs as well. But hey, look at this too...hot off of Saturday's Presses at Knifezilla.Com The Advanced Tech Balisong. Chuck Gollnick also has pictures posted in the BaliSong Forum about a Production BaliSong from an unnamed Manufacturer to be coming out after the Blade Show in June. Look for the thread, "I SPY" by Gollnick.

Here is the Advanced Tech Bali...looks cool.

And yes, yes, yes, if Ernie makes a Bali, I'm there.

Don, I caught that Advanced Tech Bali thread over on the Bali Forum earlier today. It DOES look like it will give Benchmade a run for their money,.....but a Tactical Bali from Ernie would make the competition look silly.
C'mon Ernie, make Microtech and Mike Turber look silly. This is the prime opportunity. To hell with the damned "weehawks"; give us a killer Emerson Tanto Bali! Black G10 over titanium liners, blacker than black tanto blade,.....oh yesssssss,....I can see it now. Pardon me while I salivate.

Don is very right that i'm into balisongs as well, to me it's the original fun-knife

with serious potential for being a user/defensive piece.

Come to think of it the balisong is the type of knife that i've regulary carried since i was around 12

You're aware that Mr. Emerson has made at least one balisong? should be in the gallery somewhere.

That Perrin Bali is very interesting. Do you own a Dobruski bali? For fellow Emersoniams out there the Dobruski made basli is a very hot custom that is gaining popularity quickly. The blade pattern is like a cross between the old BM Imada High Hollow and the BM Deep Belly Bowie. Very Cool!

A Dobruski is definitely in my future. I've heard great things about them, and they appear to be entirely quality pieces. As soon as sniperboy gets his Dobruski, I'm hoping for an excellent review; then I'll have to order one.

Have a 5,6 waiting on a 7,8,9, and have numerous balis, et al. My guess is the Emerson, bali, auto (EBA) streak is not uncommon.
