Utica/Purina Stockman G-A

I'm in. Great knife.

If Dad was still alive I would be in hoping to win it so I could pass it to him. He'd love it! He fed his six kids Ralston Purina wheat cereal when we were growing up, and he fed his basset hounds only Purina dog food. There was a plant in the last place he lived (33 years), and it always smelled good when they were producing.

That's a beautiful stockman, one of my favorite patterns. Here's a Schrade I've had for a little while, that finds its way into my pocket from time to time. If it's not too late, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring.

I'm surprised I didn't see this, I've always wanted a Purina knife, I'm in if this hasn't been closed yet.

Here's an old 80s Frost Cutlery Swayback One Armed Razor with a Hawkbill...

That's an interesting knife, and another very generous giveaway sir. Please count me in.

This is a knife I bought within an hour of learning of the birth of my first grandaughter. Made by Wostenholm in the 20's or 30's. MOP covers, 'Firth Stainless' blades, in absolutely great shape. I don't come across many Wostenholm's, and this was a lucky find. It's a bit flash and fancy for me, but I like to carry it when I go to see my grandaughter, hopefully I'll be able to hand it on to her someday :)

Love that pearl Jack, it's got a deep rich look you don't see on the modern pearl scales.

Mr. leghog please contact me with your address. While both of us can't gift knives to our father's,perhaps this would be a nice "remembrance of your Dad" knife for you.
Thanks to all who entered. Safe & Happy Thanksgiving,-Vince

Congratulations Leghog, and thanks again Vince

Congrats leghog enjoy the knife and think about your Old Man often.

Thanks for the giveaway...

Knife arrived yesterday evening. I seriously doubt it was ever carried. Certainly never sharpened. It really is nice.

I'd love it if I could pass this on to Dad. I can visualize him chuckling when he received it and then placing it in his front pocket. He'd have enjoyed it. I have no doubt he'd have also carried it and used it after he had me sharpen it for him. I think I'll keep it in the wonderful condition that it is in.

Thanks much for your generosity!

This made me smile. It's nice to see the generosity, especially when the item goes to the person who would most appreciate it. Congrats, leghog, I hope it always brings good memories. Good on you, Vince.

Tis the season ladies & gents. leg hog I agree, never carried, Enjoy it :)

This knife is 3-3/8" closed. It is marked Kutmaster,Utica NY. With box and tissue paper scrunched up & jammed into the bottom of the box,it seems to be a pretty good example of these, Was this something the Purina salesman gave to his client /merchant ,or ?

The scales are shrunk back a little ,but I do not think there are any pin cracks. It operates smooth and is pretty thin for the pocket.

Just discuss knives ,keep those pics coming. When I first joined BF's there were many members who could take & post great knife pics, but I think as of lately ,there are more now,who can do this.

Next week sometime I'll attempt to choose a winner. Thanks All

Here is the knife

I can remember my grandfather having several of those type knives the Purina dealer gave him. We were buying a lot of truck loads of hog and chicken feed in those days so a few give aways were in order around Christmas.
