Just finished this one up today.
The customer wanted a big knife attitude in a smaller size for general purpose work. This is what I came up with.

Textured mild steel guard
Fluted NS spacer
114 layers of 15n20 and 1084......bashed the hard way, as usual.
Stabilized birch burl handle.
tip to guard 4 9/16"......8 7/8" overall.
.200" thick at the guard, heavy distal taper.
False edge, not sharp.
Domed NS pin

All comments and critique welcome.

Oh that hits the spot, I like everything about that knife, it's beautiful and carries a lot of presence and power for it's size. You certainly hit the mark there.

I like your handle sculpting Darcy. Reminds me of the walnut hunter you made.

it's similar, but a couple extra flats left "flat" on this one. That piece of birch was one I had on the table in Kamloops.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Really nice one. I like your work, but would like to see a little more refinement at the choil.

Can you elaborate somewhat on this? I am not sure what you mean by "refinement" Different shape??
Thanks,
Darcy:)

That's incredible, I love everything about it! The facets on the handle flow nicely and look nice and crisp, and the symbols in the "fullered spine"? is a very creative touch and execyted very well. Man I can obviously keep going but all I can really say is, wow!.... ;) I always enjoy your knives, they're very satisfying and never leave me "wanting".. Beautiful job as always and thanks for sharing with us Darcy! :)

Thanks Paul,
The spine is rounded over, not fullered........but that would be cool too! The symbols in the spine are the roman numerals for 2015........
