I have a few more utility kitchen knives for sale with micarta handles, made from 1080 high carbon steel with 4.5” blades and 4” handles using black or natural canvas micarta. I have 2 of each color in stock, price is $120, payment can be sent to edgeknifeworks@gmail.com on PayPal G&S. Price includes a wooden box to store the knife in as well as shipping and a lifetime warranty. These make great prep knives the handle gives you enough clearance for chopping on a cutting board and the tip is very fine for detailed work.

Proper care for these? Use them, wash them, dry them, oil them? Best oil?
I recommend hand washing then drying after use, I use mineral oil and that works well for preventing rust, I typically only oil them when I sharpen which is usually once a month. They will form a patina with use depending on what you cut with them and that helps protect the knife and adds character.

Does this have a hollow grind?
Yes it is hollow ground on a 10” wheel, the hollow grind helps with sticking and makes the blade really thin behind the edge. I use a hollow ground chef knife I’ve made for cutting just about everything and it does well even on very tough foods like butternut squash.

Would love some choil shots...

Thank you.

these pictures are before putting the edge on the corners of the choil area are chamfered over with a course scotch brite belt to round them over and soften the edges. The edges are then ground in to a low angle, then sharpened by hand on water stones to a razor sharp edge.

Thank you for the reply.

Absolutely looks like you know the ropes, based on those choil images,...

I will take a black micarta or whatever is best on hand without any pin burnout.
