VA Knife Laws

Hey Patriot, Where are you located in VA?? I find that local laws are ussually where the problems lie.

J-Man... Thanks, I know the site, but I want to know if it's current and up to date with the law.
 
I'm a Police Oficer in Virginia and "try" to keep up on knife laws here best I can. VA's concealed weapons law prohibits carrying a "bowie" knife concealed. Other than that there is no other mention
of it.

Here are some current VA Codes:

18.2-398 VA. criminal code

If any person carries about his person, hidden from common observastion,(i) any pistol. revolver or other weapon desgined or intended to propel a missle of any kind, or(ii) any dirk, bowie knife, switchblade, knife, ballistic knife, razor, slingshot, spring stick, metal knucks, blackjack or (ii) any flailing imstrument consiting of two or more ridged parts connected in a manner to allow them to swing freely, which may be known as a nun chaka, nun chuck, nunchaku, shuriken or fighting chain or (iv) any disk of whatever configuration, having atleast two points or pointed blades which is designed to be thrown or propelled and which may be known as a oriental dart or throwing star or (v) any weapon of like kind as those enumerated in this subsection, he shall be guilty of a class one misdemeanor. A second violation of under this section shall be punishable by a clss six felony.
