I'm on vacation this week & am staying here in the Smokies in Tenn. We went out to Cades Cove & it was nice !

Coal digger, do you think the maxi strap for the bottle holder is too short? it looks ok to me? nice little set up you got. what do you keep in it for trip of that nature? my fiance and i are planning a smokey trip (NC/Tn). nice pics as well. what camera are you using? the pic of the hoppa is awesome.

I'm 6'1" 209lbs & the Max Strap let out all the way fits me perfect. For thisfamily trip all I got in there is a small FAK & couple of cheap ponchos, INOVA light, Leatherman Wave, KA-BAR/Becker BK11, Bottle of cold water, notepad/sharpie, BIC lighter, tissue's. That still gives me room for a few snacks

As for the Camera ...it's a Canon PowerShot A480, I just got it last week & I'm still learning all the functions but so far I'm really liking it, it seems to take some great pics !

That water was the Coldest water I have ever stuck my feet in ! Still don't know how the boy's stood it...They loved it & didn't want to leave !

Cades Cove is a cool place - we went last year and had a blast. Klingmon's dome should have nice clear views this time of year! Have a blast.

Buy any knives at SMKW yet?

While at Cades Cove try the hike back to Abrams Falls, it's nice. You'll find people enjoying the water below the falls, and yeah the waters cold. I camped at Cades Cove several years ago in the fall, it was really pretty.
