Vacation Jackpot!

Thanks, Augie; I don't have much mechanical skill, but elbow grease is something I can provide! :o

Mark, I sure have felt the butterflies, and I kinda wish that I didn't! The butterflies and thrill of the hunt often prevent me from making an objective examination of a knife until I get home and start noticing a lot of features (usually flaws :() that I was too excited/nervous to notice while making a deal.

Thanks, Dave. :) I'm quite sure the girl scout knife has pinned bolsters (although I can't see the pivot pin on the bolster on the end opposite the bail), not the clip-on bolsters characteristic of the shell handles. One thing I noticed tonight when I got it out to check before answering your question is that the open main blade has no blade play, but when it's closed, it rattles a little bit from moving back and forth between awl and can opener. New phenomenon for me.

Beautiful location and scenery, scrounging for old knives, spending time with family, what could be better than all that? Glad to see you had fun:D
