Anybody take any nice vacations over the Summer? We keep saying we are going to take one, but the extra money is never there. Now that I work weekends it looks like it won't happen at all.

I'd give your left arm for a vacation. It's been way too long since my last one.

We haven't been on a "real" vacation in years. We went down to Florida last year in May, did the Universal Studios thing, but mostly down there to close up my father-in-law's place and drive his car back to NH for him so he could fly back because of medical issues.

The this year, he passed away in April. My wife went down to Florida several times from January until he passed, so she used up a lot of her vacation time through work. Haven't had much time since to go away, dealing with the estate and all.

However, the wife and I did a quick overnight down to Mystic, CT a few weeks ago for our anniversary. It was a nice little getaway. We're planning to take a legitimate vacation in a couple years for our 30th.

Our favorite is to hit a UFC fight in Vegas. So much stuff to do there fight weekend.

Also no vacation this year. We got married and birthed a boy.

Vegas in spring, Atlanta in summer and Jack Daniels in fall - that's about it for us on a normal year since I started the business.

I am going to Utah this winter for a training class, but that is not a vacation per se.

Our Maine trip last month was the first vacation week in QUITE some time. It was wonderful!

My cousin and I went on a nice road trip in August before starting school. Camped near Telluride, CO for a couple nights and saw some sites, including Mesa Verde NP. Then we met my sister near 4 Corners and went to Arches and Canyonlands and stayed in Moab UT for a night. Heck of a trip.

I'm pretty sure I could spend quite a bit of time around Moab, if I had the chance.

That's a beautiful area; one of my favorites. My wife (girlfriend at the time) her roommate, and I took a 3week cross-country trip in college that focused on that area.

That's cool. I wish we would have had more time to spend there. Such a dramatic change in landscape out that way. Seemed like every hill or mountain we went over yielded a new and more incredible terrain than the last.

John, hope you take some time this fall to enjoy the colors, maybe near the mountains, find some fall festivals and just enjoy the scenery and cooler weather. we went to Myrtle Beach, SC in May and had a good time, great weather. I am curious to see how the campground where we stayed has faired after Hurricane Matthew.

Growing up my family never went on vacation. After the birth of my first son I made sure we took one each year. We tried different places along the coast and after the first trip to the Outer Banks of NC I knew we had no reason to ever go anywhere else. We've been going at least one week a year for 20+ years now and I can't imagine ever changing.

Me and some Marine buddies went to MB for Memorial Day weekend back in 83.
We camped in the KOA camp ground IIRC.It was right on the beach, probably suffered some erosion after Matt.
OH yeah, we saw Humble Pie in a little bar, great show!

Connie and I hope to go to the Smoky Mountains someday.

We stayed in a campground near Gatlinburg, enjoyed Pidgeon Forge, and Dollywood, and got to take a short horseback ride through the park. I also enjoyed Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville.

Two weeks ago, spent a week in Sarasota at nice resort pool with family for 6 days. Been looking for waitress at work to order a Pina Colada ever since.
