Vacations?

We didn't take any vacations this year as we bought a new house and sold our condo. We did have family come and visit us so we did a lot of salmon fishing this summer. As a rule being that we live in Alaska we never take an out of state vacation during the summer.

Maybe you can take a Friday or Monday off to make it a long weekend, or at least leave ASAP on a Friday after work to enjoy a drive in the mountains or country side, find some little towns like was done n a thread way back when in Jk forums. Hope you get some down time, it is hard, try to find some little opportunities. Let us know if you find some time. I have wanted to get a small picnic for Skyline drive here in VA or the Shenandoah valley.

Maybe this changes the original intent of the thread, or just a little tangent, but what little getaways have others found when a full vacation has been hard to take?
