I have a great vacuum but in talking to the pro wood treaters their processes are elaborate and utilize weird chemicals. Anyone know an easier treatment that works good?

Let me know what you find out, I've been thinking about doing this myself too.

Some folks use minwax wood hardener, plain jane 2 part epoxy, polyester resin could work too, and Nelsonite. I am about to try Resolute. It is like Nelsonite but has less naptha in it. Going with Resolute instead of Nesonite is more of an inhalation safety thing moreso than performance. Anyhow, Check it. Only thing is you have to buy a lot.

I just picked up some Acryloid B-72 I got the tip from I.G. I only used it on bone so far but mixed with Minwax wood hardner it seems to be some pretty tough stuff.3 days later and it's still on my fingernail!! Lets see if I can get a good pic to go with it....

OK cool, so that looks very interesting. Can anybody shed some light on the use of Acryloid B-72 by any stabilizing companies? What was the process for mixing the Acryloid B-72 with the minwax? Any other mixing ideas? Recipes?

IG, spill the beans :D

I posted the process that I used a month or so ago. Do a search and if you can't find it let me know. I short on time till the weekend.:D
