Here is a new knife I just finished that will be headed to Alaska.

The name (Valkyrie Specter) came from my customer and means "The One Who Chooses Who Lives Or Dies".

It is my second Sub-Hilt and the first time I've made a blade like this. The blade is inspired from the antique Searles Bowie blade and is 6 1/2" long. The damascus blade is Modified Star Burst pattern and the fittings are Explosion pattern. It also has German Silver file-worked liners. The handle is of Alaskan Mammoth Ivory. I made the sheath for this knife and it has Alligator skin inserts.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking.

Kyle this one is beyond my vocabulary. I bet those liners drove you crazy. Beautiful work man.

that knife is seriously bad ass.

Absolutely stunning.

It's good to see you post another knife. You haven't been around much lately. You must be busy.

great subhilt Kyle. love the mammoth and really like the idea of the searles style of blade. very kewl piece and Caleb is getting his photography down pat.

Very nice knife, really interesting details and I love the filework.

Keith, Kyle must be for sure really busy, because it seems that his backlog is about two years at the moment.

Yet another stunning piece of work Kyle!:thumbup:I always look forward to your posts to see if you can best yourself, and you never fail to do just that!

Exceptional knife Kyle. It looks superbly made in every way.

The sheath looks well made too, but I just wonder why you made a pouch style sheath as opposed to one with a retention strap.

Pleasure seeing it.

Kyle,
That's a beauty, and the historical reference with the modern slant works wonderfully.

That one is over the top! The fileworked liners is a great touch and I love the Damascus.

My feelings, exactly. I really like the overall look of this knife design. Nice looking sheath. Great package to head up north.

Very nice Kyle. I love the blade profile, especially the belly. Do you know if the customer intends to use this one?

Hi Peter,

I made the sheath a pouch style because it protects more of the knife than a one with a retention strap and it gives it a quicker draw.

The gent that ordered this knife will probably dress a couple large game animals that they have up there in Alaska.

Thanks for the complements everyone!

In my opinion Kyle's skill level and his perfecting of technique and process is improving with every knife. Evident here by his sub-hilt handle, filework, proportions and bull noising of the ivory joints.
It's evident he's also progressing as a sheathmaker.

Very unique ivory color. Don't think I have seen any quite like it.

Could very well be one of Caleb's best photos. At least to my layman's eye.

Outstanding work, Kyle and Caleb and congratulations to the fortunate owner.
