Valleytinworks agreed to purchase Busse Mole Jack from me on 2/18. Said pymnt was going out in a couple days. Every time he was emailed in the following days/weeks he said the money order was going out right away. I waited over 3 weeks for payment and believe that was more than fair before putting the knife up for sale again. My last messages to him were ignored. A stand up guy would have said he changed his mind and wouldn't have jerked me off. :thumbdn:

Sorry about your problems. Valleytinworks has a lot of friends here, as evidenced by various members placing a banner advertisement in their signature lines. I wonder what Valleytinwork's side of the story is?

I have a lot of friends here too as a result of my many positive transactions. When it comes to buying and selling I practice being as fair as possible in describing the product and setting the price. I also believe in good communication both buying and selling and being expeditious in my response to emails, paying, and shipping product. Any excuse Chris may have may have applied to a week or so, but this went on almost a month and I kept believing him and giving him the benefit and waited to be paid. During such time he was active in the EE buying other knives. There is no excuse for gutless, weasel behavior and I felt it should be known. If a man doesn't have his word, he's got nothing. There is no "other" side unless he's been in a coma for a month and he had an imposter replying to his IM's and purchasing other knives in the EE.

I don't know either of you two, but there very well may be an "other" side. I'd watch the badmouthing of him until he weighs in. I've seen this happen before with someone blasting someone on GBU and their own reputation taking a hit.

lets hear what he has to say before we resort to name calling.

Pete has sound advise!

Has someone contacted Valleytinworks about this thread so that he can weigh in? If he doesn't know this thread is going on then he isn't going to be making any comments.

well.... brian is a good guy, i am a busy guy..... the money order i sent out right after i agreed to buy the knife from brian was returned to my office, the address label was bent over and unreadable, so it came back to my office, i was in nyc for the week, i came back agreed to send it again and even had another money order made for an extra twenty bucks to cover the worry i had put brian through..... by the time i made it back from seattle, and then boston it was too late for brian..... i offered my sincere apologies to him and then this thread comes about....... in the time that i was attempting to purchase this knife from brian i spent over 2500 on other busse knives..... all via paypal. so i have learned one thing..... only buy knives i can pay for via paypal..... its simply very difficult with my life to pay via money orders.... most folks know me as a reliable fellow.... i doubt that will change much.... lol

again sorry to have messed up your schedule brian, but wasnt intentional.... i travel alot, maybe too much, and my secretary refuses to do my knife buying for me.... and my wife certainly doesnt have the time. again sorry.

brian.... hmmm i even offered to do a wire transfer via my bank so that you could get the money asap..... anyway again sorry to have bothered you...

all my experience with vtw has been more than positive. dont remember any specific transactions, but we have exchanged posts/pm's.

he has always been helpful and gone well out of his way to help others out, even offering his professional services.

i wonder if this could have been handled better. nothing against brian, but a lot of people read this, and a search of vtw's prior transactions would have yielded nothing but positive results.

I do appreciate the fact that VTW has quickly offered his side and an apology. I also understand Brian's frustration. I think this is just one of those things. Both guys seem to be "good guys". And VTW is certainly a great contributer on the Busse sub-forum concerning his various knife mods.

Just to add: I understand the kind of frustration this kind of situation brings. I've been there too. But insults really never help. Especially ones that seem as personal as these. But maybe after cooling off and reading VTWs post he may reconsider or choose more appropriate words to vent. (Like I am the moral police or something! )

if he isnt a standup guy-does that meen he's in a wheel chair or crawls around on his hands and knees?

When Time is a real issue this should be part of the deal and said up front.

I have had folks Buy knives from me and had the payment stretch out for months, just happens some times.

Time spent on the phone with the person I am Selling to, also gives me a better idea of how things are going to go.

Communication is important, Phone works much better for me than just Email.

In the end tolerance and Compassion makes for more pleasant Knife deals.

Dammit!!!!
I love Valley Tin Works, and that's all there is to it!
And I refuse to be ashamed! :D

about half the folks that i buy from send me the knives as soon as i say i will 'take it' and never before have i had any drama..... lessons learned.

:foot:

Wow. Someone needs a hug!!!! When someone immediatley stoops to name calling, that says a lot about their charachter.

BTW, I respectfully disagree with you. VTW is a stand up guy and I would do any business transaction with him in half a heartbeat.

I like VTW also, he contributes alot to the Busse forum in different ways:thumbup:

My buying procedure is as follows,
If they want paypal I pay right then when I buy.
When I pay M.O. I will only buy if I know I can for sure get the MO out that day or the next morning.
If I can't get it out that soon I will not buy so buyer can still sell untill I can get a MO out, Only when I know I can get the MO out that fast will I post the "I'll take it"

Keeps it real simple for me and others.

I do not travel though and see how some that do should be give some extra time as long it is worked out with seller.

Not taking any sides here, Just my way of doing it. And the PO can make mistakes as VTW noted.

We must all have patience. If you didn't believe ValleyTinWorks, you could have asked to see a receipt of the money order. Did you ever do this?
People keep your paperwork! People post your paperwork!
I don't expect that Valley Tin has kept his original money order receipt or stub, but if you have it, I'd recommend posting it, to show all the world that you are a stand up guy!
