Any input will be appreciated. This appears to be a 1974 model, as it has a single dot on each side of 110, and it only has 2 small headed inlay rivets. I think 1974 was the only year for the 2 small headed rivets. A friend of mine offered me $50.00 dollars for it. It need cleaned, but blade is still in very good shape. Is $50.00 a fair price? Thanks.

Welcome top the wonderful blade forum. Some other members with more help will be along soon.

I think $50 would be a good deal for you. Maybe a touch high for the buyer (unless that is the one knife you need and can't find it anywhere else).

Pics would help. Do you have the box and sheath?

John

I have the original sheath, but I can't seem to insert pics from my computer. It is asking me for my http address, and I only have them on my computer.

After doing a little more research, this appears to be Variation 1 of the Sixth version, because it does not have the blade bushing. Maybe $50.00 is a good deal because of that.

IMHO, $50 is too low. I'll throw out $85+...

There won't be any more of these, and what's left is diminishing as they break, get lost, are customized, etc...

And that blade steel is no longer available...

$85 might even be too low...

...And how did you found that out?? Jus' outa curiosity......:confused:

I also went onto the Britishblades forum and got the info on the bushing here:

That's a direct quote from the sticky at the top of the page here on Bladeforums.com...and it actually says so...

So...You went to a Brit blade site to get the info posted here, then posted the link to their site which is quoting this site and crediting the sticky here... :p

...lol... :D

I think that DarrylS was worried that you might have found the post/comment by Joe Houser some time back that his repair craftsmen pop a 110 open with a screwdriver...

Boomer,The data from that British site and its wording is from the old data sheets. The newly written data sheets are a sticky at the top of the first page on this Buckfourm. For that version 6 the blade bushing is not mentioned in these writings causing me to think that info may not be accurate/substantiated hence the omission.DM

Not at all. I don't think you read all of it. There is the part where they quote this site, but there is also more info (such as the knife not having a bushing) that is not on this site.

This is getting interesting. According to this site, my knife is a 5th version, variation 4. Since the bushing is not visible, how can a person find out if it's there or not? I guess my knife was only made for one year according to the sticky. Would that be correct? Thanks to everybody for helping me with this.

Howdy Boomer.I think you have to be gold here to post pic's. If you P.M.me
the pic's I will post them here for you so Trax and Dr. D , can help you with
your question.

BTY. Don't take it apart with a screwdriver .I did it and messed mine all up.:D

Welcome to the forum.

Correct! I'm just being a wiseass... ;)

That is an interesting site. I hadn't seen it linked before, although we do have some British members here.

Can you post pics of your 110? I have two two-pin [teeny head pins] 110's, but one has been re-bladed with a later blade, and the other is an inverted 2-liner...

Like many here, I save the pics so I can see what the flea market are selling... :)

Welcome to the forum.

...I don't think ya gotta be Gold Hawkster...I think ya gotta have Photobucket or sumthin' like that...Here's an old 2 rivet "re-blade" apparently done by Wilde Bill a long time back, that I got from ZZjake...

DarrylS, that seems to have the large pin heads...Did Wilde Bill use the new style brass rivets on it???

...I don't think so Trax...I also have a earlier one with the integral bolster that has the large rivets as well...I sent pictures to the "man" ( Joe ) and he said it appears to look fine and that, back in the "olden days", they sometimes used large headed rivets on those oldies...Here's another pic of the older one...This thumb has to be "clicked"...Two times...

...Boomer...That is one great lookin' knife ya got there...I think for $50 you did GREAT...
