I have an un- numbered open backed Shabaria it came from the factory with the combo blade 1/2plain1/2 serrated. Everything I have found indicates that this Knife was made with a plain edge only in the un-numbered ,open backed version, was I mis informed or do I have a rarity on my hands Thanks Karl

The open backed version should also be put together with screws instead of pins, not a rare version just a later one!

Yes it is indeed screwed together, I was just wondering there was a used numbered version on e-bay for 399.95 , I remember paying $52.00 for mine seven years ago, and it is one of my favorites for EDC Karl

I have a numbered ,pinned (closed back version ) & have been looking for the open backed one , in new or used condition , but they are not too commonly found for sale!
I guess they are different enough to be keepers.
Cool design though. all the best regards,Rick.

I have a numbered pinned as well but the clip was broken long ago. I've been meaning to send it in and get it fixed.

Three, four years ago, you could hardly give away a combo edge Sharbaria. One, two years ago when prices were going crazy, maybe $150, tops. Now, with the economy in the crapper and most Spydercos down in value, $100 might be more like it. PE would be a different story, it would fetch a fair bit more, always has, always will. Much as Sal loves serrations, the collectors market overwhelming favors PE blades.

399.95 as a buy it now is wishful thinking for the seller.
I bought a mint numbered combo there for 137.50 and a mint combo open back for 141.00.
From watching eBay I think they tend to do a bit better than that mostly, but like was stated times are tough. Nothing people can live without is selling as well as it did.

I got one a few months ago for $115 in SE on fleabay! Cool knife...but $400 ....is for a sucker! or maybe they dont want to sell it???
