Value on this Buck 110?

...Also very true what Trax said about changing blades...Mine will never be a classic again...It was once but as soon as that blade went on it became a "curiosity". I don't have a clue what year that knife was originally made at this point...I will find out when Wilde Bill "might" have put the blade on however but with memories the way they are it will just be an approximation anyway...That will make it worth more..."To me only"...

...That will make it worth more..."To me only"...
And "me".

I have certain knives that are worth their weight in gold to "me".
A 112 Founder, 298GY, 112 2 Dot, 110AG, 112 BCCI, 110 BG-42 Walnut, and 110 BuffCote all because of who got 'em to me and why.

so Colubrid, like chicks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder or fondler.

...And more than just a buncha guys who like Buck knives...we have all become close as friends Colubrid...We toss out good natured jabs at each other almost every time the opportunity presents itself... ( bung doctor??? :p )LOL...But we all have our favorites and we have respect and appreciation for all of the favorites of other forum members...That's a neat 110 you have there and it's much closer to that coveted "classic" status than mine is...Make it one of your favorites...The favorites will always be more "valuable" to each of us...

I should add one more factor that could affect its value to a potential buyer. As a 3 dot 1980 it is one of last of the 440C blade era. In 1981 Buck changed their blade steel to 425 modified and ultimately (around 1994) to the 420C of today. The 440C is a desirable steel for many. And if it's a good sound knife, i.e. tight blade with no wobble, good lock-up etc. To certain people, it could make it more valuable as a user then a new $30.00 wally world 420C's of today.

...Very true Mike...I'm one of those who actually loves the 440C as an EDC steel...I faithfully pop an older 110 or 112 on the belt as a matter of course...

Okay I am startin to like mine a little more, but not much. I still want a NS 112.
I have another 110 that does not have the square bolsters. I would carry that one before this larger version.

Oh and I was just kidding about the on the small hands reply . It was not mean spirited and I probably laughed at my own response more than anyone esle.

I would keep the 110 and keep looking for the 112NS. I don't know about what you collect or if you are looking for a true user and, perhaps, don't collect. But, if you do collect (following this?), then someday you will regret letting that go as opposed to hanging on to it.

And, FWIT, I thought your "gesture" regarding your mitt was funny. But I may have misunderstood...I'm just a pillock.
