I love you knives and have been contemplating on buying one for a while but always end up purchasing something else. Though I'm absolutely ecstatic over this krypton. Is there anyway you could make another one to the exact same specs but with red handles, do you ever make 8 inch blades, and do you ever make sheaths?

Hey Jamall,

Very nice work been looking at your stuff for awhile and really like it.

Two questions.

Can you tell me a little about S390 steel?

Do you offer sheaths?

Thanks,
Adam

I do not have blanks cut with V4E for now. It is the last one. I have one with M390 but has scales made already (black with red).
I can make any knife you want. Think made one with M390 180 mm long.
For 200 mm knives I think 4,3 mm is to thin but can use 5,3 mm M390 ;)
Think also can buy 5.7 mm Vanadis 4 extra thick ;)
I can make sheath for each of my knives.
Leather - 25$
ABS 2 mm - 15$

1. S390 it is PM HSS steel from Bohler.
In my opinion M2(HSS) steel is the best steel for knife.
S390 is that steel but made in Powder Metallurgy technology.
What is better with this - grains inside the steel are smaller and steel is much more cleaner.
Better cut edge, less cracks but much more expensive ;)
This is the most expensive steel I ever used.

AND

you can use knive in 1100F temperature and it will be still working perfectly - yes it is very important when using knife on VENUS or Mercury ;)

2. As above - sheaths can be made to each of my knife but will cost 15 or 25$ more.

Thanks for kind words.

Regards

Adam

So a survival knife made of 5 mm s390 steel would be interesting. You could cauterize a wound with the knife and the heat treatment would still be unaffected. A krypton would be nice!

Very nice work, Jamall. I especially like the first one. I have never been tempted to buy a chopper, but if you designed one with a blade about 250mm and a 135mm handle, I would almost certainly have to have one! Any chance you may be doing one larger than the Krypton?

Again, very nice work, sir.

I'll take backup on Knife #3, the Kiridashi with larger handle. Email me at rdangerer@gmail.com and I'll paypal promptly.

If that is sold, I'll take Knife #4, Kiridashi with smaller handle. [Paypal sent for #4]

1. Hugo - I got S390 and S290 heat treated already by professional institute of metalurgy in Poland ;)
So I have what my friends got as an waist ;) Steel is superb, expensive but this is not the problem
HT proccess is a problem. You have to use protective atmosphere for HT to get the best from HSS steel.
I use inox foil and this is not the best way to harden HSS steels.

2. TRfromMT - please find me on Instagram or Facebook (KornalskiKnives) you will see 500(20") long knives with 12 mm steels ;)
Can make anything - ask Hugo ;) He owns some of my productions ;)

3. Stephen I answedred to your mail ;)

4. Rob we will wait for Brummie than send III or IV.

Regards

Adam
