"Vandimion," an integral dagger.

Fantabulous! I'd like to add something witty and/or profound.... I got nothing. Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous, completely 'over-the-top' designing/fabrication. Terrific insight and success to make this one completely integral...phenominal!
Thank you Salem!

Righteous Fecal Matter is right!

I agree with Erin about the "small" embellishment but don't get me wrong, that dagger is already gorgeous. Can't wait for you to get time to explore engraving/embellishments. Then watch out, it's the top of the world for you my friend. Maybe I should buy a Salem knife while I can still afford it.

Awesome, buddy! You're on fire with your out of the box stuff!

The first comment says just about everything...

That's... amazing. Someone called it a fantasy piece and I suppose it has to be because
it would be virtually impossible to make with the technology available when its basic style
was made, but there's nothing about it that strikes me as impractical or non-functional.

Just beautiful, incredible craftsmanship.

Very impressive work. It numbs my mind thinking about the hours cleaning up in all those nooks and crannies but you did it very well indeed.

Thanks again guys! I'm on vacation now, nice to get a rest from knives. I just hauled my anvil a couple hundred miles to preside over an "anvil wedding" of two of my best friends. Maybe my work will improve now that my anvil has been blessed by that ceremony...
Bigfattyt, just saw your question- the opposed tang is pretty rigid but a bit springy on its own, and putting the scales on stiffens it up completely. The scales are attached with two micarta pins, and two hidden stainless pins so I feel pretty good about the structural integrity.

Could you talk a little about the anvil wedding? I'm vaguely familiar with the Scottish tradition, but would be interested in learning more.

Also, the blade is exquisite yet menacing and perfectly balances refinement and raw aggression.

Salem I am thoroughly impressed, technically and artistically. Oh and like others have said Holy $hit!! Keep pushing yourself and raising that bar.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Many things could have gone bad in that knife project...you nailed everything right!!! That dagger is fantastic :)
