Vanguard CPM154

I picked up a new Vanguard (CPM154 coated blade) at SMKW recently. It came with a box dated 4/8/2010 and was the only one in the store. Haven't seen it available anywhere. Was wondering if this knife has been discontinued.

Sure is a great looking knife. Other than the AG Vanguard w/S30V, seems hard to find a Vanguard in premium steel.

Anyone ever compare the Cabelas AG Vanguard to the Gerber Freeman S30V Fixed Blade Hunter? Both have about the same size and shapee blade, and are the same price. Have seen the Gerber with stag scales for under $100 shipped as well.
 
I had a box at the door step today, a new AG Vanguard w/cherry wood and leather sheath. Can't decide which I like the best. The 154CPM is definately sharper out of the box and has a better polished finish. The sheath on the AG has thicker and softer leather.

Will need to hone the AG S30V some. Anyone know the blade angle on the Vanguards? I may offer up the 154CPM for sale or give to one of my brothers. The coated 154CPM is something special and not available anywhere on a Vanguard now. I picked up several AG Bucks last month when they were on sale (110, and Alpha Hunters in fixed and folder). I like the Vanguard best of all.
