Hi Buck fans I have a couple of questions after checking out the buck knives section of the knifecenter.com website and figured this was the place for answers. First off I noticed that the Buck Vantage-Avid has a 13C26 Sandvik blade, does Paul Bos handle the heat treat for Buck's Sandvik blades? Secondly what's the Rockwell hardness of the Sandvik heat treat? I'm looking for another EDC and this one caught my eye. I don't expect it to hold an edge as long as the Vantage-Pro with S30V but I don't mind sharpening my knives and I'm looking for a good mix of edge holding and ease of sharpening. Also if anyone has this knife yet (not sure if it's out yet) I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Tango, Welcome.Yes,Paul does handle the heat treat on Sandvik for Buck.I believe after some dicussion they ended taking it to 59RC and it would be easier to sharpen than some other steels.In HI. watch for blade corrosion while just sitting on the bench in your garage.DM
