I had asked earlier why there seemed to be little interest in the smaller version of the Vantage. I did this because I decided to buy one to replace my Nobleman with something made in the US that could be carried tip up and low profile. It arrived and I thought I would post some of my observations on this little knife.
Good-
Flipper works great!
Solid lock up with no blade play in any direction.
Good ergos for a small knife.
Nylon scales feel solid.
Bad-
Flipper could really use some texture for grip.
Liner lock could protrude less in to the index finger area.
Ugly-
The blade finish is terrible. Seems like there was no effort made to clean up the grind lines at all. My thumb nail makes noise if I run it over the surface.
The lower edges of the thumb hole are sharp.
Major blade play when closed.
The bottom line-
None of the bad or ugly items keeps this knife from being a useful tool and for the money, I am not heart broken, just let down. I will put a good edge on it and see how it performs in the EDC role before updating this review. If I had payed for a Pro and found quality like this I would not have been pleased in the least.
