Variable Speed AC Controller

Don I am in the same boat. I spent a lot of time running all over the place asking about speed controllers. Half the sales reps did not really undersatand what they were selling and I was not prepared to spend the money in the end.
The only good thing to come of it was while i was running around for months I got used to my fixed speed sander and it does not bother me anymore. I even thought about a mechanical set of pully like in the top of a 16 speed drill press. My machine is flange mounted with the drive wheel straight on the shaft so could not do that either.

My next grinder buy will be either an attachment for a 3 in and 1/2 inch contact wheels or one of those 3 inch wheels that bolt onto the end of a bench grinder. I don't work any of those materials that need the slower speed so for me the contact wheels would give me some options for finger groves and hollow grinding narrower blades.

I'm not sure of the machines mentioned. But I remember about 10 years ago I saw a tape on the burr king with variable speed I wet my pants.
Wanted a variable still do but I'll have to keep dreaming. I'm only a hobby maker havent got the sales to justify it. Kids in school come first.
Its nice to have dreams.

Steve and Reg ELLERY, we know what it is like to make do with what we have. I am only a hobby maker, but I have dreamed of having good
equipment. Rhino, no doubt the KMG is the one to buy. I just
found out that, the company that my son works for, uses variable
frequency drives, and he suggest that I buy a well known vfd for
reliability and service support. It's very simple, it just takes
money.
