Sometime back I did a chef with African blackwood ,it sold & comments to make another were posted. Well here's one ready to go
It is a 3 /32" thick stock ss blade from Dexter Russell U.S.A knife Co. .I do not know what steel type it is but prob. 420 or 440 variant. I'm thinking,Rc is 59 -ish. You can see in the pictures how they did the grind on the blade. It reminds me of chef knives from grinding houses, that supply the larger restaraunnts with freshly sharpened knives they rotate out for them. You'd have to know a little about the business to understand that, but anyhow....What you can't see is the figure of this gorgeous book matched African blackwood. Too dark, but it has browns & figure to it. I finished it out to a 600 plus grit finish. 1/8" nickel pins. I brought the handle as far forward onto the blade as I could without it looking weird. This is the spot where you are gonna choke up on it & that little detail makes a world of difference when you are using this for longer periods/bigger chopping jobs.
13-1/8" OAL,blade is 8" and so is the cutting edge. Its nice & thin & a slicer
Paypal & Con US shipping included
I need a hundred bucks and it's worth it. Keep in mind I have handled & used many 250+ dollar chef knives. Good deal here if you want something in between ,nice & unique
Thanks All,-Vince
