Vehicle question- No, not a clown car

My family rig is a 1975 Bronco. That's my suggestion. When the fam's not aboard, I can go into the boonies and play with my knives. :)

Honda CRV hands down. Perfect size for a new family. VERY drivable. Sips gas for an SUV. Cool inside and out. Honda quality is tops.
And is really ugly and only hold five people. With four kids you'll need more space.
You might want to look at the Pilot, though.
Also the new Highlanders are seven-seaters

When our family grew from 4 to 5 with the addition of my MOTHER-IN-LAW, this was the solution. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey. Helluva car. 21st century Teutonic interpretation of the Vista Cruiser!

Buy a minivan, I get the same mileage as my wife's Grandam GT with my Chev Venture Van, and it's huge! I rented a Yukon one time when I was vacationing and it won't hold a candle to my van in terms of interior room, most SUV's won't and they just guzzle gas for nothing. I paid $9000 for my van, and it's served me fine so far. Last year I put 45,000miles on it, only had to change the tires and do oil changes. Plus you can take all the seats out and camp in it, it has decent ground clearance and with FWD it has good traction in snow and crappy roads.

He said giving birth to BABY#4, so 4 kids +2 adults = 6, How are they going to fit in the 5 Seater?

I have two Honda's and a family of five, but I wouldn't recommend a CRV, they are too small. There is no room for groceries or luggage for a family. I have the Odyssey with 150K and it is still running strong.

How about a used Lexus RX 330? The dependability is excellent, gas mileage good for an SUV, very comfortable, holds resale value excellently, and can store your goods in the back. Most come with an automatic rear lift opener which comes in handy when you've got an arm load of goods. Several with the navigation system also had rear seating entertainment which keeps the kids occupied. I am on my 4th one and love em. Much better reliability than the Mercedes which has gone down with mechanical/service issues.

Any mini van. Only one to stay away from is the previous generation of Kia Sedena Replace in 2006 with the newer model. I owned a 2005 and had nothing but trouble with wrapped brakes rotors due to weight and size of the system. 100,000 warrenty was BS, would not cover wrapped rotors due to driver over braking. Funny, brake the same way in my Ford vehicles and all with stood 70,000 miles until needed new pads and turning of the rotor. Also, the seat were hard, felt like driving position made you fell like a bus driver. Turning radus was very poor, in fact I could turn tighter in my 2002 F250 by a foot. Also handle like a bus, and the gas milage was 15mpg. The engine had to work hard to move 5000 plus in weight. Newer models I heard are a big step forward fixing most of these problems. Go with Honda, Toyota, late model Ford 2003 and later mini vans. General Motors and Dodge family are nice van but it is hit or miss along with Kia.

By the way replaced the Kia with a Ford much better in handling, gas milage, better seating and at 13,000 did not require turning the rotors due to wrapage...Also the service at dealership far better than Kia's

The Toyota Sienna is really nice. Great amount of space, decent milage, fold down rear seats.

Plus you can put a warm body into the space the back seats fold into, line with plastic, cover with a blanket, and you've got the perfect Dexter vehicle.

Score!

I second the odyssey. Had one when us, three kids and sister-in-law living together. Plenty of room and we're all big folks, kids teenagers but even babies take up plenty room. Tight on luggage space when full (for vacation trip say) but we fixed that with a roof box.

Honda Oddyssey or Pilot (I have an Element but no kids and love it, best car i've ever had)
