Forgot to post these yesterday with my other images. After seeing Filosofem's beautiful photos of his collection yesterday, I'm definately going to have to learn more about knife photography. There's definately a trick involved to get such great photos without shadow and flashback. Who's got he secrets?

just did a little bit of work within a very basic image editing program that I have

this I think would appear to be a bit closer to the real knife although I'm not sure that the satin finish might not be totally accurate.

good images are a product of a number of things.

Type and Quality and Direction of light
Background material selection
Physical devices such as the camera and its functions, tripod, light stand etc

email me if you want help

meanwhile, I'll include one of Ricardo's mentors knife and an image I just did a few moments ago and was going to post in a new thread but it fits here quite well.

This knife I have show before but not with this background--by DF Kressler

only 2 clicks in the image image editor. one to adjust contrast and brightness slightly from the camera image and one to reduce the image size.

take a look at the knife collection photos in the Photos below and see other knife images.

Hey Murray,

That's a beautiful knife on a very spooky-looking background! Great pic as always.

And that's a heck of an impressive trio further up the page.

Cheers,

Roger

when I first tried to do the post of the Kressler and the Velarde's, the message came up of server busy so I waited and uploade again. Camer back later and discovered that the original attempt came thru.

Admins--feel free to remove the second one.

Roger and others besure to look at the original image posted to see the difference. I love that background and I think it will work nicely for some knives.

Great knives and great pics. I like ALL of them. Thanks!

I like tham all, but I find the the clip point and very nice engraving on the middle on makes it the one I like the most.

That Kressler is magnificent.
