Venison burgers and becker. Didn't have any bacon unfortunately, but it is a newish becker and the burgers were delicious

Regarding it being expensive, I guess it could be, if you use a butcher. Not really sure what that woud run you. If you do your own processing, just pick a few pounds of burger that you want for grilled patties, and run them through your grinder with the cheapest bacon you can find. The fat content of the less expensive varieties actually seems to help with the moistness and flavor.
I buy those boxes labeled "ends and pieces" and use that.
