Hello,
I have been looking at the Darren Ellis Venturi burner and have a question. How do you adjust the burner tube? Is the reducing bushing drilled to the pipe outside diameter and then slits cut into it so that it can squeeze down on the pipe after you find the right spot?
Has anybody have any words of advice on how to make one. I want to make a mini version for my 2 brick forge that is not getting as hot as I think it should, with either propane or mapp gas from the burner I have.
Thanks for the help.

Here's a link to a simple venturi burner.

I made one. I got most of my parts from Lowe's/HomeDepot. I got my regulator from Darren Ellis. Darren is a good guy to get stuff from. He is very well known and respected here on this forum.

Have fun, don't forget the fire extinguisher.

Short answer is "Yes" The reducer bushing is drilled for a tight slip fit, then cross slotted.

Ellis's kit comes with very easy to follow instructions.
I waisted a lot of time running around looking for the fittings I wanted. Ordered Ellis's kit and was running in an hour.

Mungo Park,
I like that one.

bikermikearchery,
I have bought from Darren, but I want to try to make something smaller than he sells for my forge. I want to make a burner that the pipe is 3/8". I started on it today. I did not have all the right parts, so I made some modifications on the lathe and got it to work. I will buy some more parts on Monday. I would like to get a look at his instructions. I will contact him in the next few days.
Thanks to both of you for the help and advice.
Fred

this is a 3" x 13"chamber on this forge. 3/4" sidearm burner running at 6 psi.
