Went to Vermont this past week. Had a good time, but nice to be home. Weather didn't always cooperate, but it was still fun. Most places were the same places we went to the last time, but my mom wanted to visit these places, so we went again.

This is the historic Walloomsac Inn, in Bennington, Vermont. It was built in 1764, and has been frequented by several famous people. Here's a vid you can watch about the history of it, if interested:

Surprisingly, it was way more colorful in southern VT, than northern VT. The evening we got there it got down to 26°, the coldest temp they had. So they hadn't changed too much. Was still pretty though. These were taken in southern VT, along Route 9:

First morning was a misty lake:

There was some small trees, and weeds alongside the house. A job for the BK9.

Went for a walk, and took some random photos:

We came across a few baby chipmunks. I started talking to them, and one of them came right up to me. Photos are blurry:

Photo the wife took of me taking those photos:

Some more shots. It was beautiful out:

There were bears in this corn field eating corn the night before. I had no idea bears ate corn, but apparently they do to fatten up for the hibernation. We didn't see any, although we went in the evening to see, but the neighbors told us about it, and I'll try to get some photos: (Updated HERE)

The next day was nice as well. Some kayakers, taken from the porch:

A spider on the porch. A few shots, flash and without flash:

My wife braved the chilly waters, and took these photos of Pop's place:

Was gonna take this old stump out with the niner, but it was so dang soft on the outer layers, the blade more or less bounced off of it. I ended up using a bow saw. I did cut the brush down with the 9 though:

Hit a few rocks. Gonna have to sharpen the nicks out of it:

Next day. I have many photos of the mountain across the lake, but they always look different the way the sun hits it:

Went for a ride to Lake Willoughby. These were taken on the way there. It was overcast out, but later cleared up.

The hill to the right is Elan Hill, the same hill across the lake from the house:

A few randoms:

Photos never do this place any justice. The sun was shining through the clouds, but the smaller photo size makes it hard to see:

These were taken from Sentinel Rock State Park. The view was stunning.

We stopped here at Edelweiss Store, to get a snadwich at the deli. I opted for a shaved brisket sandwich, that comes with cole slaw on it. It melted in my mouth. It was delicious. I should have taken a photo, but I was hungry:

Back to the house. It had cleared up by then. Same old hill:

I got a fire going, and decided to take some random shots.

Another log batoned with the 9. Used a pick handle for the baton:

The old hold the camera close to the water and take a photo trick:

As you can tell, I was sitting by a fire, then getting up to take more photos.

Last log I batoned. This sucker was tough:

93.png

You can see the blade stressing:

94.png

I had to turn the log upside down, and baton on the other side. Finally got through it. ou can see the knots:

Went for another walk down the lane. Yet more color:

The wife took this shot of Echo Lake. Ian Flemming had a cabin here, and wrote some of the James Bond novels from here:

The final day. Rained like crazy. It rained on us going from northen VT, to Scenechdedy NY, and then spit here and there to Lackawanna NY, where we stayed for the night.
The lake in the morning. Rain, rain:

Hogback Mountain gift shop, in southern VT. Always wanted to stop here, so I did. Pretty, but damn, I sure wish the sun would have been out:

As you can see, we had a great time, and the weather for the most part was nice.

Thanks for looking.

Those are some epic pics. Just wanted to go ahead and say this already, gonna scroll through them again. Looks like a wonderful time!

Beautiful photo's as usual Warrior!

That looked like an awesome vacation! I'm jealous!

Spec. Tacular. You never cease to amaze me Dubz. Although that wharf/jetty looked a bit dodgy. Unless it had glass paneling then Awesome! See through jetty!

Thanks man, appreciate it.

Thanks man. The guy that owns that place was there one day, to close the place up. He took all the boards off the dock, or, jetty as you call it.

Lifted them off the neighbors FB page. This is literally right up the hill from Pop's place:

Epic pics Dubz. I especially love the lake ones - the mist coming off of the lake, and the mountain reflecting in it. Absolutely beautiful.

WOW You made my day! Anytime, any day I would love to be there....... Awesome

Thanks man. I've been there 5 times now. May be going back next year, if the place doesn't sell by then.

Well, you missed out on the Gathering just next door, but it looks like it was worth it. Very great photo tour, Dubz. I rode my bicycle across route 9 from NY to Brattleboro (my grandmother's house was there) in the summer of '85. Up and over Hogback; camped on Woodford mountain, IIRC. You certainly do the place justice with your most excellent photos. Again, thanks.

Thanks man. Route 9 was the prettiest area there, color wise, fo sho.

Great colours, great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Tell me Warrior, don't you find the handle of the 14 a bit small for you?
