Vertical Satin Finish?

I've had some request for a vertical satin finish on my knives.
At the present I'm doing hand rubbed satin finish parallel with the blade.

I's this done on a grinder? Which belts?
I'm still using a 2x42 grinder so I can't get to thin on my belts without chatter.

Can this be done by hand???
If so any tips?

More industrial of a finish.
Really looks good on that knife.
