One of the forum members who is also a cabinet maker brought this wood to me at the Boise Knife Show. He gave me a good price on 3 boards of this so I am able to keep the price really low.
This is natural hickory. It has not been stabilized. This is really hard wood that sands easily. I gave these blocks a quick sanding to 220 grit and wiped them with a light coat of oil. They should look a lot better when you fine sand and polish them. I figured this would be good tough wood for hunters, bushcraft and other knives that will be subject to hard use.
