I've always been a fan of the flat spey style tip (closest thing I can think of to call it) but it seems to be a rarity on fixed blades. A few months ago I reshaped a cheapie Steel Warrior to this shape after snapping the original tip and have grown rather fond of it for day to day use.

Anyway, browsing the Bay a few minutes ago as I often do, I noticed a listing for an M. Poole custom knife with a BIN of $59. Marvin Poole? My interest peaked, I clicked it to see this:

I think I may have sprained my finger hitting the buton. I am pleased, thought I'd share. :D

I like the style myself. I recently got a GEC folder with a similar blade they called a Beavertail. If you round that abrupt clip transition, you have a kind of Nessmuk. All good skinners, and handy in the kitchen, too.

Those GEC's are nice. I haven't got around to picking one up yet. I have a bit of a slippie issue. I have all kinds of RR's laying around for various tasks, but I never seem to keep the pricey slipjoints I buy for more than a few days. I compare them to the one in my pocket and they always seem somehow lackluster no matter how much nicer they are.

My first knife when I was a kid, and it's still banging around in my pocket a lot of days some 20 years later. As snappy as the day it was made.
