VERY IMPORTANT -- Packaging Knives for Shipping

I wrap the @$@#$ out of the knife, with cardboard and newspaper, put a secondary label, to/from, on the bundle. I tape the knife firmly to the inside of the box to limit movement, tape every edge....

.............and pray a lot !

And remember, after it's all thoroughly, carefully wrapped and packaged, take a black marker and write on the outside of the box:

Handle With Care -- Large Heavy Knife Inside !!! :D :D :D

I bet it was that FRAGILE stamp that caused that. :D But still, not to worry too much... it isn't exactly easy to damage a knife in shipping. Especially a Busse. What could they possibly do to it that would damage it without tearing the whole box apart entirely? Of course, they might lose the whole thing, and that would suck royally.

I have a question???

Have any of you gotten Knives from us like that???

and is there anything we can do to make it better?

Yes...

Promise me that you will NEVER let any more of my knives attack you & cut you up when ya go to pack 'em... THAT would be better!!!! ;) :D:D:thumbup:

Gratz on a great knife. Could it be there are some Busse haters in the Postal Service? Maybe it's all the heavy Busse packages they have to lug around for us, or maybe it's jealousy at having to deliver these great knives without owning one?
Who knows, in my limited experience trying to get knives shipped from the US it's a case of running the gauntlet of USPS, UK Customs then UKPO. I've given up on shipping, now I come to the US and get any purchases I make online sent to my hotel (the looks some hotel receptionists have given me!), failing that I get friends or family to do the same for me if they're over on holiday.
Anyway, back to the knife you got it looks great. Another testament to why we buy Busse blades.

once, it wasn't as bad as Eli's box, and you corrected the issue by going to the cardboard sleeves, and all that butcher paper.

It was a CS SHBM:eek:, You were still using the 'original' Busse tactical sheath, hacked up usps priority boxes. The 'sheath' was cut at an angle, and it was just short enough that the tip was able to poke through the box.

When I picked the box up off my porch, I got bit, I cursed, but I was glad it didn't escape in transit, there were a few poke marks through that side of the box. I wondered about it's neighbors in transit, and anyone who had handled it. The only blood on the box was mine.

The sleeve kept it from coming clean through.

The knife was fine, I healed, you guys changed your method. No biggy.

The BM is still sitting in that tactical cardboard :D

Awesome INFI Eli... I'm glad it made it thru the beating it took.

Nice packaging... and some good advise too!
I'm going to start putting a label on the wrapped blade inside too.

Handle With Care -- Live Spiders!!!

My Uncle shipped me something with that marked on it. The carrier was holding it at arms length and delivered it at the start of his route instead of the normal time. It was pretty funny.:D

Dwayne got a similar delivery with a box marked live catapillars! :D
Nice knife glad it made it ok despite the PO.
We have had many a bad look from the postman (or postwoman depending oh who was there that day) because the knife was poking out of the box. SO PLEASE PACK THEM WELL!!!

For the ultimate in security, please bake my knives inside a cheese cake.

The last knife I received in the mail was a FFBM, which the seller/shipper had just tossed into a box loosely, in the factory cardboard sleeve. The mistress nearly managed to fight its way out of the box! It had rattled around and cut all the way through the sleeve and the box itself in several places. It's a miracle that nobody cut themselves on it (maybe they did, though I didn't see any blood) The knife was completely unphased by the experience.
