Aloha All,
If you have been around for a while... you know that years back Don Hanson ABS Mastersmith offered up some of his personal stash of W2 steel... this steel offers amazing hamons as well as overall excellent performance in small as well as large blades.... Sadly he sold out quickly but not before I could secure my own stash for that one day when I could forge my own... no worries... I am keeping some for myself...
I am offering some of my stash of this very special W2 purchased from Don Hanson way back in 2008.
(Please note that I have asked his permission to use his name and checked with him on the content of this post including prices.. so nothing hidden... please feel free to contact him if you know him and check anything out... Thank-you Don... you're also a very special awesome guy! )
Here is one of his quotes on this large stock
"This is Big stuff, a 1.5" long piece of this 2" W2 will make a giant 12"+ blade"
I also posted one of his pics of the kind of Hamons he has achieved with this special steel... you can also google and find his site and threads that display it as well....
I have available the following (note I used my postal scale for those under 10lbs and my bathroom scale for the others ... so weights are approximate... best I had so I'm going with it )
I am offering this to members here at $Gone a pound per bar shipped Priority Mail, insured with tracking to the USA.
Please note that some of the bars have already sold almost immediately.... a few folks know how good this W2 is....
Minimum 2 bars please....
6 - 1 1/4" Square bars that are 11" long and weigh @ 5.25 lbs - $Gone each bar shipped to the USA - GONE
6 - 1 3/4" Round bars that are 11" long and weigh @ 7.5 lbs - $Gone each bar shipped to the USA - GONE
16 - 2" Round bars that are 11" long and weigh @ 10lbs - $Gone each bar shipped to the USA - GONE

The maximum weight I will ship at a time in each flat rate box is 44 lbs... I know I can go up to 70 lbs but the old folks at my post office really like me and I'd like to keep it that way

These .065 thick on my calipers 4 1/2 wide by 11" long.... there are 20 pieces....
this is @18 lbs on my bathroom scale.... so under $Gone a lb. .... $GONE Pending Funds shipped to the USA
