(VERY VERY PIC HEAVY) A Day Hike on the Old Mine Trail

Yesterday my buddy, his girlfriend and myself headed to Wrightwood to hike the Old Mine Trail in Vincent Gulch. Brought along the BK-7, my Paramilitary 2, and my Pacific Salt for food prep. We went roughly 2 miles out and 2 miles back, nothing too crazy but lots of hills and narrow trails. Here are some pics!

Here's my buddy at the beginning of the trail:

We came upon one of the old mine entrances! I believe there are more, this was just a small one:

We found a couple concrete slabs in a clearing, perfect picnic spot!:

Had to get these on ice:

Brought out the BK-7 and my buddy immediately wanted a picture with it:

Yes, even in nature, there are douchebags:

Before we started cooking I used the 7 to carve some chopsticks:

We were having Spam and Ramen so I broke out the kitchen and started cutting up the spam:

You can kind of see in this pic the hand sanitizer bottle I washed out and have been using to bring cooking oil on hikes:

Frying up the spam:

Thanks for looking!

Looks like the perfect way to spend a day! The views are incredible, that's for sure.

The cooking oil in the bottle is a great idea. I think I'll steal that one!

Beautiful place to hike, I wish we had mountains like that in Ontario. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a great place to explore. I bring along spam on my hikes all the time. Packs very well. I usually do spam & potatoes. I like the picture of your buddy sliding down the mountain, made me laugh. Is your BK7 blued?

Spam is very underrated! The 7 isn't blued that's just the coating I have been leaving on to see how long it takes to wear off all of the way. Considering what I've put it through it's doing pretty well.

Good times. Nice pics. I just got a BK7. Feels so nimble yet very capable. I think I'm going to like it a lot.

Thanks everyone!

Very cool trail, I have been there a time or two.

We should hike it together sometime! First we have to get shooting out of the way. My boy is due next to arrive next Thursday though so schedule's gonna be a bit tight coming up!
