Mark's just starting out, and this is the first folder he's ever sold. I saw pics of the first Vesper he made and I wanted it, but he told me that it was going to be a heavy user just to see how his work held up, and as a starting point to see what could be improved. I told him I wanted one similar to it, full flat grid, etched and stonewashed, orange-peeled, and he said he'd keep me in mind for when that time came.

The main thing that drew me to his knife was how clean and simple it looks whether open or closed.

This past weekend was hectic, but we were able to touch base with each other via PMs and then email. He shipped out monday, and I got it on tuesday.

A lot of other people do too, apparently. Been getting a lot of feedback about this. You're gonna be quite busy if you decide to open the floodgates.

I'm right in the southwest corner, Greenwich.

Thanks for the comments and interest guys!! If anyone wants in on my list feel free to email me at the address in my sig. No obligation or deposit. I'm guessing I'm about two months out right now but that's only because I'm part-time. My goal is one a week.

Heya Gooeytek!
Funny. I just noticed this thread. I really should be on the BF custom forum more often.
Like i said to you before. Great lines on that knife, and it looks like it just melts into the hand.

Mark,
You really have something with that design. There are many other established makers out there that can't (or won't) do contouring that well. Consider me an admirer of your work.
Keep it up!

Thanks a bunch for the comments!

Contouring is a finicky thing. I'm not sure how other guys do it but for me it is very dificult to blend the contour into the flats where a demarcation line does not show. Not a priblem until you try to orange peel. I like how the contouring feels so I think it's worth the effort.

Btw- Im finally stepping up my game and hope to buy a mill in the next week!!! I love my 70 year old drill press but it has its limits.

Thanks again and I hope to be getting to your stuff soon.

Mark

A fellow knife nut saw my YT video and shared pics of his Vesper.

I'm diggin the cratered finish.

Oh yea, early in February, my gf rented a cabin in the Poconos along with another friend. We couldn't find a kitchen knife, but I had the Vesper and it filled in.

Very cool! I hope you had a great time. Mark is making my knife soon and I'm going to be asking for some embellishment on the handles, maybe an inlay. Not really sure, so I'll likely leave it up to him.

I just bought Vesper #3 on the eXchange. It'll be here Wednesday. Pretty excited. First custom folder. I'm a camera hound so I'll definitely be postin' pics
