For your consideration today is a build representing 10 years of refinement: The STINGER. My goal with this knife was to achieve "Integral-level" tolerances in a standard frame lock.

The Mechanicals:

  • Manual Build: While the blanks were waterjet cut for material efficiency, all beveling, ergonomics, and mechanical tuning were performed by hand at the bench.
  • The "Zero-Play" Pivot: The tolerances on this knife are exceptionally tight. The action is buttery smooth on phosphorous bronze washers (with integrated grease pockets) and remains easily flickable with zero blade play, even under minimal pivot tension. No bearings are used—just precise geometry.
  • Custom Hardware: All hardware—excluding the blackened screws and the CNC cross-cut inlay—was custom-turned in-house, including the solid brass thumb studs and pivot pins screws (fine satin finish).
  • Security: Hardened 440C pivot and stop pin and a carbidized lock face to ensure a "stick-free" release and a lifetime of vault-tight lockup.
The Blade:

  • Steel: W2 High Carbon with a clay-tempered, active Dark Hamon.
  • Finish: Performance 80-grit vertical satin. I have found this "deep-grain" architecture is the best way to trap the dark oxides of the etch, ensuring the hamon stays vivid even with heavy use, unlike mirror-polished finishes.
Specs:

  • Frame: Grade 5 Titanium (Stonewashed with hand-fine satin chamfered contours).
  • Centering: Dead center.
  • Edge: Razor sharp.
  • Includes: Hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
Price: $675.00 Shipped (PayPal)

The VespidEdge Guarantee: If you receive this knife and it does not meet your expectations for fit, finish, or action, you may return it within 48 hours for a full refund (minus shipping).

All the best, God bless,
Bogdan
